Puffshroom

Puffshrooms are a common material that is incredibly potent when used in combat to release large clouds of presence-concealing spores that act like a smoke screen in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You can often find these spore-puffing mushrooms with their purple, orange, and green speckled caps near small rocks, cliffsides, and especially around the trunks of large fungal trees in the dark and dangerous Depths below Hyrule. Where to Find Puffshroom in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Puffshrooms are incredibly common and only grow in the dark and dangerous realm known as The Depths, a mysterious dark world below Hyrule covered in gloom. You can often find Puffshrooms next to rocks, cliffsides, and especially around the trunks of large fungal trees.

Common Locations:

  • The Depths

Tips for Finding Puffshrooms

  • Explore The Depths and check near fungal tree trunks. Often, when you find a tree trunk with a Puffshroom, a few more are nearby.
  • Unlock the Camera and Sensor+ upgrades for your Purah Pad so you can snap a photo of a Puffshroom to add it to your Hyrule Compendium. Once you've done that, you can target Puffshrooms with the Purah Pad sensor, which will ping you as you close in on the location of any nearby monsters.

Puffshroom Uses

Puffshrooms are incredibly powerful when used in combat to create a large cloud of spores that conceals your presence from a monster or a group of clumped-up monsters. Monsters caught in the clouds will stand around, looking confused, while you move around them or Sneakstrike them from behind. You can fuse Puffshrooms to weapons and shields to release the concealing spores when attacking or blocking, and you can throw them or attach them to arrows to create a spore cloud from a distance.
