All Schema Stone Locations

Schema Stones in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are a Key Item that unlocks build designs, but you won't be able to use these, or see the specific design it unlocks, until you've unlocked a certain ability by completing the main quest A Mystery in the Depths. This page includes exactly how to use Schema Stones, how to find them, and all 12 Schema Stone locations. Schema Stones work similarly to Yiga Schematics.

How to Use Schema Stones in TotK

You won't be able to use a Schema Stone or see what it grants until you have unlocked Autobuild, which you can get by completing A Mystery in the Depths, or, you can unlock Autobuild early by going to a specific location in the depths.

Once you have Autobuild, when you pick up a Schema Stone, you'll see what it unlocks.

  • Unlock Autobuild
  • Open the radial menu and equip Autobuild
  • Scroll down to the "Schematics" menu to see the schematics you've unlocked so far
  • Choose the schematic you want to build

And that's it! Remember, you'll need the Zonai Devices or enough Zonaite to create these contraptions.

Schema Stone Locations

There are 12 Schema Stones - see all of their locations on the map of Schema Stone Locations below. You'll mostly get Schema Stones from Constructs at various mines in the Depths, but two are found on the surface.

From the Gatakis Shrine, head down the path until you reach a ledge. Then jump down again to the right (south) and paraglide, but turn and look at the cliffside pointed at below.

Schema Stone 9

Schema Stone 9 - Instant Cannon

This Schema Stone can be found at the Abandoned Tarry Mine in the northeast part of the Depths. The closest chasm seems to be East Akkala Plains Chasm. From there, head south, traveling east if you encounter impassible walls. Eventually, you should see a large tunnel if you look west.

The Kawikatisar Lightroot is the closest lightroot, but if you come across it from the East Akkala Plains Chasm, you've gone too far south. Luckily, activating that Lightroot will illuminate where the Abandoned Tarry Mine is on the map - just north of the Kawikatisar Lightroot.

The Abandoned Lanayru Mine where this Schema Stone lies is pretty well hidden - if you do the Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan side adventure that's unlocked after completing A Mystery in the Depths, you will eventually be led here! You can travel from the Lanayru Wetlands Chasm and travel east, stopping by the Sekioam Lightroot on the way, before eventually cutting north to find the small opening - luckily, statues point toward it.

However, the true closest lightroot is Kegopa Lightroot, which is fairly easily findable from the Kawikatisar Lightroot near the Abandoned Tarrey Mine. Talk to the Steward Construct on the platform to get the Bolt Boat Schema Stone.

The entrance of the Shrine of Resurrection (a cave, not really a shrine), is up a cliff on the Great Plateau. Find it by heading to Riogok Shrine, climb up the cliff south of it, and then follow the ledge east until you see a Blupee. It will lead you to the entrance covered with leaves.

The cave is a straight line, but in the back, there's a hole behind a small pond. Drop down it--but be prepared, you'll have to take out three Yiga Clan members before you can claim your prize of the Beam Cycle Schema Stone.
