How to Get Amber in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You can find Amber by mining Ore Deposits and Rare Ore Deposit, opening Treasure Chests, and defeating Stone Talus and some of its variants. If you're looking to farm Amber, a good bet is to break open Ore Deposits and Rare Ore Deposits, which are found in nearly all of Hyrule's Caves and Wells.

Tips for Finding Amber

  • Amber is a common drop from mineral deposits, so be sure to explore Hyrule's Caves and Wells to find Ore Deposits and Rare Ore Deposits.
  • While in caves, be sure to cut green vines with sharp weapons and destroy breakable rocks with hammer-like weapons and explosives to find hidden passages to potentially more Ore Deposits.
  • Be sure to have a hammer-like weapon on hand to crack open Ore Deposits.
  • If you need a hammer, there are usually rocks in Caves and Wells that you can fuse to a weapon to make one.

Amber Uses

Amber are essential for upgrading many armor sets at the Great Fairy Fountains. Amber also makes for handy early-game weapon fusions that grant a sharp blade and slight attack power increase—which can be useful when cutting down trees. Other uses for Amber include selling for rupees, completing the Amber Dealer side quest, and dyeing your armor orange at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.

Fuse Attack Power: 4

  • Weapon Fusion Effect: Melds Amber to your weapon, increasing attack power by four and granting it a sharp blade.
  • Arrow Fusion Effect: Increases Arrow Attack Power by four. The Amber can be retrieved if it misses the enemy and lands somewhere within reach.
  • Shield Fusion Effect: Melds Amber to your Shield, increasing attack power by four and allowing shield parry to damage enemies in melee range.
