How to Get the Armor of Time

There are two ways to get your hands on the elusive Armor of Time Set.

Scan the Amiibo

If you own the Link (Ocarina of Time) Amiibo, hold L to open your abilities wheel, then select the Amiibo icon. Get Link to an open area, then place your Amiibo near the NFC touchpoint on your Switch or controller, and you'll have the chance to unlock the Cap of Time!

Looking for more thorough instructions on how to use Amiibos or curious about other Amiibo rewards? Check out our comprehensive Amiibo Unlocks guide for more details!

If you don't have the Amiibo, don't worry! You can find each piece of the Armor of Time hidden in the Depths underneath Hyrule. Click one of the links below to be taken straight to that particular piece:

  • Cap of Time
  • Tunic of Time
  • Trousers of Time

Finding the Armor of Time requires extensive exploration throughout the Depths. If you haven’t delved into the Depths before, check out our Depths Guide for some survival tips!

Where to Find the Cap of Time

The Cap of Time is hidden inside a lone treasure chest sitting atop a rock pillar in the Depths of the Hebra region. Specifically, in the Sturdina Lavafalls area.

Cap of Time coordinates: -4079, 2799, -0450.

Even though the Cap of Time is found in the Depths beneath one of the coldest places in Hyrule, it is surrounded by waterfalls of lava, so the Flamebreaker Armor Set or some Flameproof Elixirs, at the very least, are required.

The fastest way to get to the Sherafin Lavafalls to find the Cap of Time is to fast-travel to the Nupisoyuat Lightroot. If you haven’t unlocked that one, the Muotue or Worihas Lightroots will do in a pinch, but they are much further away.

Nupisoyuat Lightroot coordinates: -4537, 2879, -0707.

Fast-travel to the Nupisoyuat Lightroot and make your way directly east to the Sturdina Lavafalls. This trip involves cutting right across the territory of a Colgera, but take advantage of the wind currents it creates to soar away from the beast and straight toward your treasure.

Once you reach the Lavafalls, hop off your glider and look toward the largest Lavafall. Beside it, you will see a large rock pillar, and atop it, the chest containing the Cap of Time.

Where to Find the Tunic of Time

The Tunic of Time is hiding in Lindor Canyon Mine, in the Depths under Hyrule Ridge.

Tunic of Time coordinates: -1999, 1307, -0715.

The quickest way to get to the Tunic of Time in Lindor Canyon Mine is to make your way to the Nabahi-ikat Lightroot. If you haven’t unlocked the Nabahi-ikat Lightroot yet, head down Hyrule Ridge Chasm to the north of Mount Rhoam and make your way west.

Nabahi-ikat Lightroot coordinates: -1829, 1196, -0723.

From there, you will have to make your way to the northwest, around the great walls that lie beneath Lindor’s Brow Skytower. You cannot climb over the dark spot on the map as the walls reach all the way to the ceiling. You will have to go around.

Once you pass around the giant black spot on the map, you will reach Lindor Canyon Mine. Be on the lookout for a small stone structure with a roof over it. There, waiting for you in the center of that small structure, is the chest containing the Tunic of Time.

Where to Find the Trousers of Time

The Trousers of Time are found within the Gerudo Canyon Mine in the Depths. If you're an experienced Depths explorer and previously activated the Mustuto Lightroot, fast-travel to this Lightroot, and you'll find the Gerudo Canyon Mine to the east.

If you haven't activated the Mustuto Lightroot, launch from the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower, then glide northwest to reach the Gerudo Summit Chasm.

Dive straight into the chasm, and when you ground, face southeast. Here, you'll find the Gerudo Canyon Mine.

Walk over to the Gerudo Canyon Mine, and open the chest in the center of the area to collect the Trousers of Time.

Armor of Time Upgrade Requirements

While you cannot dye the Armor of Time, you can upgrade each piece with the following items. If you collect all three pieces at least twice and wear them all at once, you will unlock an Attack Up Set Bonus.
