Where to Find Big Hearty Radish in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You can find Big Hearty Radishes with their large green leaves and two pink flowers growing in the grassy areas of the many Sky Islands that float above Hyrule. Although radishes are rare, if you spot normal Hearty Radishes, there's a good chance that a Big Hearty Radish is hidden somewhere close or on a nearby floating island.

You can find a Big Hearty Radish atop the northmost floating island in the North Necluda Sky Archipelago, marked by the yellow arrow icon on the map above. To reach this area, you can paraglide northeast from the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, and with a quick interaction at the nearby Josiu Shrine, you can unlock a fast-travel point for quick return visits.

Once you've launched from Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, you can paraglide straight to the northmost floating island in North Necluda Sky Archipelago if you have enough stamina. Otherwise, you can land on one of the other nearby floating islands and use the rotatable stone catapult to launch yourself to the north island.

The Big Hearty Radish will be waiting for you near one of the destroyed stone pillar ruins. Pick up the Big Hearty Radish, and you're all set! While you're here, you can also find a normal Hearty Radish and three Endura Shrooms nearby.

To get the Big Hearty Radish from the Necluda Sky Archipelago, make your way to the sky island that has the Kumamayn Shrine, which you can reach by paragliding east from the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.

From Kumamayn Shrine, head east along the grass-covered stone walkway toward the doorway-shaped stone ruins until you reach a gap.

Once you reach the gap between the stone walkway and the eastmost island, paraglide across and make your way to the large tree by the stone ruins wall.

Behind the moss-covered stone ruins wall and near the larger tree trunk, you'll find a Big Hearty Radish, yours for the taking!

You can find one Big Hearty Radish atop the vine-covered floating island on the east side of Valor Island, with its location marked by the yellow arrow icon on the map above. You can access Valor Island by paragliding northeast from Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower. And if you stop by the nearby Mayanas Shrine along the way, you can unlock a fast-travel point for return visits.

Once you've reached Mayanas Shrine, you'll need to go to the top of the vine-covered island floating in the distance to the northeast. Head up the stone steps and follow the stone walkway toward the northeast.

On the walkway, you'll find an abandoned zonai flying vehicle on the right, near a moss-covered stone wall ruin. Hop on the vehicle and fly it up and toward the top of the eastern floating island. However, you'll need to watch for constructs that shoot zonai rockets.

Alternatively, if you don't have enough Energy Cell power to make the trip, you can exchange zonai materials at the nearby Devise Dispenser for a chance to get more batteries.

At the top of the floating vine-covered island, you can find the Big Hearty Radish with its pink flowers and large green leaves growing not far from the yellow-leafed tree nearest the stone doorway ruins. Grab the Big Hearty Radish, and you're all set!

Tips for Finding Big Hearty Radishes

  • Unlock the Skyview Towers found across Hyrule to access the Sky Islands where Big Hearty Radishes grow.
  • Look for the large green leaves and pink flowers that grow from radishes in the grassy areas of the Sky Islands.
  • If you find yourself in a Sky Island cave, use Link's ability Ascend to check the topside for radishes.
  • Snap a photo of a Big Hearty Radish with your Purah Pad Camera to add it to your Hyrule Compendium, and then use the Purah Pad ability Sensor+ to sense radishes while you explore the Sky Islands.
  • Once you have one Big Hearty Radish, you can do the side quest Teach Me a Lesson II to grow more in Uma's Garden.

Big Hearty Radish Uses

Big Hearty Radishes are excellent for cooking full recovery recipes that also grant a boon of many extra temporary hearts. Cooking a Big Hearty Radish in a cooking pot by itself will fully heal you and give you five extra hearts, but if you cook it with other Hearty ingredients, such as Hearty Bass, Hearty Truffles, and Big Hearty Truffles, you can get even more extra hearts.

Growing Big Hearty Radish Crops in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Another use for Big Hearty Radishes is to grow more of them in Uma's Garden at Hateno Village. With Uma's help, you can get two Big Hearty Radishes per harvest. All you need to get started is at least one Big Hearty Radish in your inventory and to have completed the Teach Me a Lesson II side quest.
