Dondon

Dondons are an extremely rare creature type in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. They're large, mysterious animals that look like a hybrid of a rhino and an ox. Dondons can't be hunted, and they don't drop any materials, but they do have a part to play in the story of TotK.

Dondon Interesting Facts

  • If you drop a Lumionous Stone in front of a Dondon, it'll slowly walk up and eat it. According to their handler at Lakeside Stable, this will make them eventually "create" other gems, but this has yet to be confirmed. Either their digestion takes a very long time, or they're finicky about who they "create" gems for.
  • Dondons' horns and backs light up at night.
  • Dondons play a part in a Side Adventure called "The Beast and the Princess," which is picked up from Penn at the Lakeside Stable.
