Official Description: "This large bird makes its home in the volcanic region of Eldin. Their heat-resistant feathers and skin are evolutionary traits produced by the harsh environment. Their wings are too small to facilitate flight, but their long legs make them pretty speedy runners."

Where to Find Eldin Ostriches

Eldin Ostriches are only found in the Eldin Region among the steppes and cliffs of its rockiest terrain. They usually travel in pairs.

Common Locations:

  • Death Mountain
  • Eldin Mountains

Specific Sightings:

  • There are many Eldin Ostriches on the slopes of Death Mountain. Specifically, near the minecart rails that circle the mountain.

Tips for Hunting Eldin Ostriches

Unlike other birds, Eldin Ostriches are land animals that don't disappear after being spooked. If you get too close to one, it does a goofy jump and gracelessly lopes away. One hit with a ranged weapon usually takes them down but it is possible to chase them down for a melee strike. They drop high-quality meat, so it's worth your time either way.
