You can get Hearty Truffles by exploring caves in West Necluda, Hyrule Field, and with some exceptions, caves in other regions. Often, Hearty Truffles grow along the foot of a cave wall in a small mound of dirt, occasionally hidden within secret cave chambers. To get many of these truffles, you must journey all over Hyrule and explore as many caves as possible. Thankfully, we've got you covered with a few Hearty Truffle locations to get you started.

Common Locations:

You can find up to four Hearty Truffles (and one Big Hearty Truffle) inside the Sturnida Springs Cave, located on the northwest side of Hyrule in the cold region of Hebra. Sturnida Springs Cave can be found connected to the south end of the Sturnida Secret Hot Spring. If you have the Paraglider, you can reach this location by gliding northwest from the Rospro Pass Skyview Tower.

Three Hearty Truffles are found within the Satori Mountain Foothill Cave, located at the southeastern foot of Satori Mountain and just a bit northwest of the Usazum Shrine. To reach this location, you can travel on foot, or you can glide west as far as you can from the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower with your Paraglider. However, once you enter this cave, you'll want to be cautious of the Hinox that resides within it.

You can get two Hearty Truffle (and one Big Hearty Truffle) from within the Highland Stable Well, located east of Faron Grasslands and southwest of the Utsushok Shrine. You can find the Well entrance next to the Stable's north gate entrance near the fence with small trees. However, remember there will be many enemies inside this well, and it will take some time to make your way there for your first visit, so completing the nearby shrine to unlock a fast travel point for future visits may be helpful.

There are a few uses for Hearty Truffles, but they are well suited for cooking some of the best meal recipes that will fully heal you and grant you a temporary boon of extra hearts. The extra hearts you get from hearty meals will last until you've been hit enough times to reduce them, making them very useful for taking on challenging monsters. Other possible Hearty Truffle uses include taking them to Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village to use them as an armor dye ingredient or feeding hungry monsters to distract them. However, there are more common materials that can be used as a black dye ingredient or monster bait.

You can get at least five Hearty Truffles from within the Royal Hidden Passage, along with many other goodies, making it a great spot to explore and farm. However, you'll first need to fully investigate one of the Regional Phenomena of the main story quest to gain access.

After that, you can head to the Emergency Shelter in Lookout Landing to get inside the Royal Hidden Passage, but beware, many foes, breakable rocks, and challenges lurk inside.
