King Gleeok
The King Gleeok mini-boss can be found in the Sky and Depths in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This boss can be found in multiple regions.
In the Depths, there's a King Gleeok north of the Great Hyrule Forest Region in the Gleeok Den, which is underneath the Typhlo Ruins. It will be guarding the treasure containing the Cap of the Twilight that is part of the Twilight Armor Set.

King Gleeok Locations
The best and shortest route to access the Gleeok Den will be entering through the Drenan Highlands Chasm. Once you enter through this chasm, paraglide east to find the entrance of the Gleeok Den.
For all three sky islands with King Gleeok, you must have a lot of stamina and Enduring Elixir on hand. Otherwise, you won't make it to the islands. You can also create a flying vehicle with Zonai Devices, and use that to make it to the islands.
Recommended Gear
It is essential to arrive prepared for this battle, therefore, in this guide, you will find a list of key equipment and materials to get ready for the confrontation.
It is recommended that you have at least two sages at your side to deal maximum damage when the Gleeok comes down for brief seconds. Sages can be acquired after completing key quests in the main storyline, so it is best you progress through the main story, if not done so yet.
Next, bows and arrows will be imperative for this mission. Bring at least three high-level bows to the battle. In this instance, the bows used were:
- Royal Guard's Bow
- Mighty Lynel Bow
- Dusk Bow
You can find both the Royal Guard's Bow and the Dust Bow in Hyrule Castle. The Royal Guard's Bow will be sitting on the second floor of the Sanctum near some ruined statues. The Dust Bow will be sitting at the very top of Hyrule Castle in a hole in the tower outside.
The Mighty Lynel Bow can be found in a ship inside the Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave in a chest atop the northern mast.
Most of the damage inflicted on the three-headed beast will be done through the piercing of your arrows, so be sure to have in your arsenal, at the very least, more than 150 arrows so that you do not run out of arrows in crucial moments.
You can also upgrade your gear at the Great Fairy Locations, to have your bows and swords deal more damage in less time, however, for this guide, no upgrade was necessary.
Be sure to make some food that will restore your health from gloom damage, as any damage dealt by this Gleeok will affect you with gloom.
Another crucial component to successfully defeat King Gleeok will be Zonai Springs. Have at least 10 Zonai Springs in your inventory as you will need them constantly to jump in the air and enter slow motion when shooting with your bow. Zonai Springs are dropped by Zonai Gacha Gumball Dispensers located in Lanaryu Great Spring Sky and West Necluda Sky dispensers.
Keese eyeballs and their variants such as Aerocuda eyeballs will also be important to fuse with your arrows, as their homing ability will allow you to quickly dispatch the King Gleeok's weak points and conserve precious arrows on the go.
King Gleeok Battle Strategy
When you get to the arena, take a right and hide behind the stone building that acts as a base for a big statue. Hiding behind this area will allow you to avoid all of the monster's attacks.
Next, set up your Zonai Spring close to the wall and jump on top of it to hit and shoot you up in the air. As soon as you hit a reasonable altitude, take out your bow to hit the King Gleook's weak points which are its eyes.
Make sure that each arrow is equipped with a Keese eyeball to make sure each arrow does hit the eyes and effectively take it down with only one jump from the Zonai spring. At the most it should take you two jumps to take it down temporarily, to deal even more damage.
It will take about 5 or 6 hits before it starts to get back up and gusts you with the wind. The wind might hit you as he gets back up, but you should be able to sprint your way back to the stone building before it hits your elemental lasers.
Final Blow
Rinse and repeat this strategy until you get to about 1/4 of its health. As soon as you see the health bar reach near the 1/4, don't go back to hide behind the stone building. When he reaches that health status, the monster will go even higher in the sky and start bombarding you with high damage dealing ice cones and lightning.
Take out your Zonai Springs right there before it gets back up. Make sure to hit it with the highest-dealing damage bow you got so that you can knock it down in one jump. Take a few steps back before dropping the Zonai Spring, that way, he does not knock out the spring out of the way and waste your precious seconds to get into the air.
Alternative Final Blow Strategy
If he does reach the skies, the lightning strike will tear holes on the surface that you can paraglide your way up, or you can use recall on the ice cones to shoot you up to his level.
However, this method is highly risky, as the lightning can still hit you on your way up. In addition, you must consider your stamina, if it is not high, you might risk running out of stamina and falling to your death. You could also mitigate the fall by having the Zonaite Armor Set equipped, however, you also run the risk of having to rinse and repeat this risky method if you could not finish the final blow or take out his weaknesses.
Once you successfully take out the King Gleeok, make sure to open the treasure and collect the Cap of the Twilight.
If you have not yet collected the other pieces of the Armor of the Twilight Set, check out our full guide to complete the set, and we can assure you, those will be much easier to acquire, as there are no enemies guarding those treasures!
