Paya is Impa's granddaughter and Purah's grandniece. In Breath of the Wild, players meet her as a timid young woman who likes to take her off her grandmother. Paya also helps Impa in guarding the Sheikah Heirloom. Still, she attempted to fulfill the prophecy to free her family from guarding the Heriloom.

As a fun fact, Paya's name comes from a Papaya seed-shaped birthmark she has on her body.

Official Description: Paya

The chief of the Sheikah tribe. She takes the duties she inherited from her grandmother Impa seriously, and she draws strength in her own way from being a gentle soul at heart. She has considerable affection for Link, in part because of her grandmother's many tales about the hero who defeated the Calamity.
