Riju

Though she has grown somewhat from her appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Lady Riju inherited the throne at a young age due to the passing of her mother. She is the descendant of the Gerudo Champion Urbosa, who fought alongside Link during the Calamity 100 years prior.

At such a young age, Riju was originally unsure of her ability to lead her people, especially after the theft of the Thunder Helm and the rampage of the Divine Beast, but with Link's help, she regained her courage and used the Thunder Helm to help him access the Divine Beast to defeat the Thunderblight Ganon within.

After fighting beside Link once again, she inherited a secret stone and awakened as the Sage of Lightning.Under her increasingly confident leadership,Gerudo Town was freed from the threat of the Gibdos and the sand shroud. Though the Gerudo have returned to the surface, men are still barred from the town–Link, who has earned their trust, is the sole exception.

You'll meet Riju as part of the main story questline, "Regional Phenomena," when you go to Gerudo Town to investigate what's going on in the desert. There Buliara will tell you where to find Riju, which starts another main quest, "Riju of Gerudo Town."

Reprising her role from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is voice actress Elizabeth Maxwell, who once again lends her voice to Riju in Tears of the Kingdom.

When she wasn't voicing the Chieftainess of the Gerudo, Elizabeth worked on high-profile projects like My Hero Academia (where she voiced the character Midnight) or Genshin Impact, where she voices Rosaria.
