Where to Find Rock Octorocks

Rock Octorocks hide in mountainous regions disguised as small boulders. They can be difficult to spot, but if you see a boulder start to rumble without warning, it's probably a Rock Octrock.

Common Locations:

  • Death Mountain
  • Eldin Canyon

Specific Sightings:

  • There are quite a few Rock Octorocks in the quarry north of Goron City; just to the east of Darunia Lake. To get there, travel to the Marakuguc Shrine and head north.

  • There are some Rock Octorocks hanging out near the Momosik Shrine.

  • There are many Rock Octorocks hanging out on the slopes of Death Mountain. The easiest way to start looking for them is to travel to the Sitsum Shrine and paraglide around.

Tips for Fighting Rock Octorocks

If you drop a weapon near a Rock Octorock, they'll suck it up and spit it back at you with full durability and a stat boost. Each Octorock can do this only once. To learn more, read our guide on How to Buff and Repair Weapons or Shields.

  • Rock Octorocks dive underground to move around. Wait for them to surface for a clean hit.
  • If you herd a Rock Octorock close to your horse, your horse will attack it and make short work of it.
