After starting Potential Princess Sightings!, find the Snowfield Stable over in the South Tabantha Snowfield in the Tabantha Tundra region. Find Penn speaking to Harlow and you’ll learn of Princess Zelda’s special horse who ran away.

The only real clue you get to where it really ran to is that it headed north. The horse itself is around some ruins in the North Tabantha Snowfield. Unfortunately, up north in the Tabantha Snowfield is a Frost Gleeok that roams around and flies pretty low to the ground. Fortunately, you never have to encounter the sub-boss at all and can go around it in the wide open field. Before you set off, speak to Harlow once again to get a stamina elixir you might need to tame the beast.

The golden horse can be found in some ruins north of the Gleeok’s territory and just south of the geolyph that takes up the entire north field. The horse is quite skittish and is surrounded by a few other horses. Luckily, you can use the ruins around you to leap off land directly onto the back of. This is the best strategy unless you have high stealth items on you. You can also shoot it with an Ice Fruit to stop it from running away, and jump on as soon as it breaks free.

Note that the Golden Horse may require more than a full single wheel of Stamina, so either be sure to upgrade your Stamina wheel, or be prepared to eat some food to give your more stamina before it runs out!

Once you soothe the horse, it will be near or at max affection pretty instantly. You can ride it around and back to the stable. Speak to Harlow again and you’ll get to keep the golden horse and receive the Royal Bridle and Saddle to go along with it.
