Be sure to have a strong bow, arrows, plenty of Fire Keese Eyeballs to fuse, food that adds the Cold Resistance buff, and some sturdy, melee weapons. This boss is very difficult on account of how much damage it deals, so it's best to wait to take it on until you have a high armor rating and weapons that can deal a lot of damage.

Official Description: This three-headed monster first appeared after the Upheaval. Fighting it alone is inadvisable, as its three heads will attack you all at once. Creates blistering cold air within its body. When someone sets foot upon its turf, this beast will freeze the intruder and their surroundings in ice.

The elemental abilities that Frost Gleeok possess allow it to change the temperature around it, making it colder than it already is. Make sure you gear up with some, if not all, of the following items before you take on a Frost Gleeok.

- Snowquill Armor Set.- Elixirs or food with a Cold Resistance buff.- A strong bow.- Arrows.- Keese Eyeballs, preferably from a Flame Keese.- A strong melee weapon, preferably a fire one.

How to Defeat a Frost Gleeok in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

If you have all three pieces of the Snowquill Armor Set equipped and have upgraded them all twice, you will have the Unfreezable set bonus. This renders you immune to the ice effects of the Frost Gleeok, but you will still take physical damage.

Frost Gleeoks are some of the most frighteningly strong minibosses in Tears of the Kingdom. They are incredibly huge and equally powerful. And as if that wasn’t enough, they also fly, making them hard to reach with arrows and near impossible to reach with melee weapons.

A good stock of arrows and Keese Eyeballs make taking down a Gleeok a much smoother ride. It is difficult enough to hit a Frost Gleeok with a Keese Eyeball fused to your arrow, let alone without one. It is possible if you’re a great shot, however, so regular arrows with any sort of fire item would work. While any eyeball is handy, Flame Keese Eyeballs in particular are excellent for use against Frost Gleeoks.

To defeat a Frost Gleeok, you have to hit each of the heads directly in the eye with an arrow. Each of the heads act independently, so it will continue attacking you until you hit all three. Once you do, the Frost Gleeok will fall to the ground, allowing you to rush in and start wailing on its heads with your strongest weapon possible. Fire weapons are great since that is their weakness, but the stronger, the better.

The Frost Gleeok will get up eventually, so you will have to repeat this process a couple of times. But eventually, you will defeat it using this method.

If you’re struggling to land a hit on the Gleeok because it’s too high to reach with your arrows, Fuse a Zonai Rocket to your shield to launch yourself into the air. You could also light a fire, throw a Hylian Pinecone into it and glide up the updraft.

Alternative Strategy

Gleeoks are so strong and difficult to reach with anything but arrows, that alternative strategies are few and far between. But if you have a healthy stock of Zonai devices, you could always create some sort of hectic Zonai device to help you take down your Gleeok.

The things you can create with Zonai devices are limited only by your creativity. You can make an incredibly powerful lazerbeam canon with the following items:

- 4x Big Batteries.- 1x Hoverstone. - 1x Stabilizer- 1x Construct Head - As many Beam Emitters as you can muster.

If you attach your Big Batteries to each side of a Hoverstone, place a Stalibizer on top of the Hoverstone, attach a Construct Head to the top of the Stabilizer, then stack as many Beam Emitters as you possibly can on top of the Construct Head, you have yourself an absolutely epic machine that could potentially take down anything in its path. Even a Gleeok.

Attack Patterns

Frost Gleeoks have many different attacks in their repertoire, and they aren’t afraid to use them. They can use any or all of these attacks in varying combinations and sometimes use more than one at once.

The most common attack you can expect to see from a Frost Gleeok is an ice laser beam. These can be emitted from all three heads at the same time, and they track your movement as you try to run away. If you have mastered the art of Perfect Dodging, this is a perfect time to put those skills to the test, but you can also outrun the lasers the old-fashioned way.

Frost Gleeoks can also create snowballs that roll around the battlefield, trying to knock you off your feet. These aren’t as powerful as they are annoying because don’t cause much damage by themselves, but if they knock you down, it leaves you vulnerable to follow-up attacks. Run or jump out of the snowball's way as they approach you.

Frost Gleeoks also have the ability to rain what seems like hundreds of massive, jagged icicles from the sky. These land all over the battlefield and freeze you on impact, making the entire area an obstacle course of razor-sharp ice. The best thing you can do when this happens is to avoid them at all costs and keep aiming for the Gleeok’s heads.

When a Frost Gleeok is low on health, it can fly high into the sky and create a snowstorm that rains triangular pinnacles of ice down onto the battlefield. Reverse time with your Recall ability and hitch a ride up on one of these icicles to get closer to the Gleeok and keep hitting it with arrows until it falls once more.

The Gleeok’s massive wingspan creates huge gusts of wind that knock you off your feet if you get too close. This happens both in the air and on the ground, so arrows are all but the only way to hit it unless you have a giant Zonai creation on your side.
